Giving Back

Saints Peter & Paul Council #17278 – Knights of Columbus has been recognized by the American Red Cross as one of its Premier Blood Partners for 2026, a prestigious honor, for its support of the community and national blood supply.  Last year, Saints Peter & Paul Council helped the Red Cross collect 207 blood donations as part of its deep-rooted commitment to help save the lives of patients facing illnesses and injuries in this community and across the country. “Saints Peter & Paul Council #17278 is proud to be a part of the Red Cross mission that helps ensure lifesaving blood is available for hospital patients in need. Our organization shares that same humanitarian value to help our neighbors, and we are grateful for the opportunity to host blood drives that will do just that here in our community.” Every day, volunteer blood and platelet donors across the country are needed to help save lives. Blood and platelets are needed for accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease, according to the Red Cross.

“The Cross In My Pocket” – A Lenten Focal Point and a Yearlong Reminder

As a token of gratitude for all of the support shown to us by our parish community, each parishioner entering the church for Ash Wednesday Masses was gifted a Pocket Cross from our Council.  The Crosses were blessed by our Worthy Brother Knight, Deacon Jerry Nevling, and represent our most sincere wishes for a meaningful and spiritually satisfying Lenten journey.  May the Cross in your pocket be a constant reminder of the precious gifts that only our Savior can provide.

Knights Help Deliver Christmas Necessities

On December 20th, members of Saints Peter & Paul Council, along with those from neighboring councils (Osceola Mills, Houtzdale, and Clearfield), went on the road to deliver Christmas presents filled with household necessities, appliances, and gift cards to deserving families in the area. A yearly event, the Christmas deliveries are collected, packaged and orchestrated by Bethany Retreat (Anawim Ministries) in Frenchville, PA. All items are donated by local individuals and businesses, and are hand delivered by our Knights to families who are truly in need. Vivat Jesus!

Breakfast with Santa – 2025

Thanks to everyone who attended our 3rd annual “Breakfast with Santa” on Sunday, December 14th. The delicious FREE menu of Pancakes, French Toast, Sausage, Bacon, Biscuits & Gravy, Fruit Compote, and a host of beverages (including our “Catholic coffee”) was enjoyed by an impressive number of parishioners and members of our community (even though the weather outside was frightful). Take a moment to view a slideshow of the event by clicking here and scrolling down the page to “Breakfast with Santa – 2025.” This year’s breakfast was especially memorable due to the recent release of the feature film “Saint Nick of Bethlehem” which was inspired by the life of our local Santa. The film is now being streamed worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. Check out the trailer here and BELIEVE! Merry Christmas and the very best of the holiday season to you from Saints Peter & Paul Council – 17278!

“Breakfast with Santa!”

Saints Peter & Paul Council #17278 invites everyone to come out and see Santa and Mrs. Claus at our “Breakfast with Santa” on Sunday, December 14th.  Breakfast will be held from 8:00 to noon in our parish hall. There is no cost for the breakfast; however, a free-will offering will be most appreciated. As in the past, it will truly be a special event featuring the magic of the season and the spirit of community fellowship!  As many of our local folks know, our Santa is the inspiration for a feature film, showing nationally, some of which was shot in our area.  More information on this project (and the official trailer) can be found here

“The magic of Christmas is not in the presents, but in His presence. May His love surround you this holiday season. May you feel God’s presence in the candles that softly spread their glow at Christmas.  May you experience the wonder of His abiding love, as He guides you, through each day of the coming year. This Christmas may God’s Blessings be with you.”  Merry Christmas from our Council to you!
